Home Latest News AAP Latest ‘Come to my house at night’: Kejriwal says DDCA official sent this...

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal unleashed a fresh wave of attacks against his pet opponent Narendra Modi, saying the prime minister has devoted his “entire machinery” against him and that the CBI has been “pressurised” into raiding his offices in New Delhi. In an interview to NDTV, Kejriwal claims he has proof of a DDCA official asking a junior player’s mother to visit him at night if she wanted her son to figure in the team roll call. A quick fix on Kejriwal’s latest slam dunk:

On DDCA:
“You’ll be amazed to hear this, a senior journalist’s wife got a text message to come to a DDCA official’s house at night, so that her son could be selected.”
“Kirti Azad has shown a video about wrongdoing in DDCA. Jaitley reacts saying these are my people, I must protect them.”
“There’s a large scale ‘ghotala’ in DDCA.”

On Modi and Jaitley:
“Why didn’t the PM get a CBI raid done in the Vyapam scam?”
“I can look in your eye and speak because there’s nothing dark inside. I don’t regret whatever I have said (calling Modi a psychopath)”
“You can hug Sharif and Pakistan all you want, please don’t bug me everyday.”
“Don’t get the LG to call us everyday and threaten us.”
“Delhi government does not want any money from Centre. Please stop harassing us on a day to day basis, we’ll make Delhi shine.”
“I’ll give Modi all the credit, just let us do our work. Don’t get behind us every single day.”
“They’ve got their entire machinery against me.”
“Why is Modi trying to finish off my government? Everyday, the LG threatens people saying don’t get on Kejriwal’s side.”
“Arun Jaitley openly says that LG Najeeb Jung is his man. It’s well known.”
“Modi has decided that Arvind Kejriwal is the worst guy on the planet. All of you have decided I spend my whole day complaining.”

On CBI raid:

“They (CBI) sit the whole day in Rajendra Kumar’s office looking at the same file.”
“They (CBI) kept asking him who all used to come and meet Kejriwal.”
“Najeeb Jung is also in trouble over an enquiry he had scuttled.”
“What did they get after 5 days of interrogation? 10 bottles of whiskey.”
“I challenge the CBI to raid each and every one of us but after that tell Jaitley to co-operate with the Commission of Inquiry.”
“You (BJP) did not come to raid me, you came to dishonor me. You thought if you come into my office, you’ll find something. That was the idea. You found nothing.”
“CBI was under pressure. Their note before the raid — I have a copy of that, is laughable.”

On Odd Even:
“We are not going to implement this with a tough stick, we want this to be a civil society movement.”
“Will there be violators? Of course there will be. This is ambitious and is based on good reason. We have to start somewhere.”
“I am anxious just like a boy would be before an exam. The success of this scheme depends on every Delhi commuter. They have the keys.”

Sparing almost no top official of the NDA government, Delhi chief minister launched yet another stinging attack onNarendra Modi repeating that he had no qualms about calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi a “coward” and a “psychopath”.

Kejriwal said Modi, at whose order the CBI raided his office on December 15, was ready to befriend hostile Pakistan, but won’t let the Delhi chief minister work.

Kejriwal, whose government has set up a Commission of Inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the DDCA, said sexual favours were being sought for selecting players.

“You will be surprised to know that a senior journalist phoned me and said that his son, who plays cricket, was selected,” Kejriwal told NDTV.

“But his son’s name was not there in the list. And can you believe it… the next day his wife gets an SMS that said ‘come to my house and your son’s name will be there (in the list),” he said.

Kejriwal said the journalist was willing to depose once the Commission of Inquiry starts working.

Kejriwal, who said there were more sordid tales in the DDCA which was headed by now union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for many years.

On December 15, the Central Bureau of Investigation raided the third floor of the Delhi Secretariat — also housing the chief minister’s office — in connection with corruption charges against Kejriwal’s Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar.

However, Kejriwal alleged that the investigation agency, which reports to the central government, raided his office too and read the files related to DDCA to save Jaitley.

An incensed Kejriwal had called Modi a psychopath and coward after failing to handle the chief minister politically.

“I don’t regret anything. I accept I use bad language, I speak from the heart,” he said.

Referring to the impromptu stopover of Modi in Pakistan on his counterpart Nawaz Sharif’s birthday, Kejriwal said: “I appeal to you (Modi)… we don’t want any fight. You can befriend Pakistan, yet you won’t let Arvind Kejriwal work.”

He said Modi should decide “whether to make the DDCA inquiry null and void to protect Jaitley”.

The AAP leader has said massive bungling happened under Jaitley’s nose and he should resign and face the probe.

Refuting the allegations, Jaitley filed a defamation suit against Kejriwal and other Aam Aadmi Party leaders.

“Mr. Jaitley was repeatedly told many times about the corruption. He was president for 14 years and a scam took place on such a large scale. The moment we said there is corruption in the DDCA, Mr. Jaitley filed a defamation suit against us.”

BJP says Subramanium working for AAP

BJP on Tuesday described as an exercise in “cheap publicity and propaganda” the one-man Commission of Inquiry’s communication to the NSA, in which it has sought names of officers to be part of its probe in the alleged irregularities in DDCA affairs. The Hindu reports that legal experts are questioning the validity of the probe panel, claiming that political vendetta seems to be the only obvious reason.

Accusing former Solicitor General Gopal Subramanium, who is heading the Commission, of working at the behest of the AAP government, BJP asked Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to read the Constitution, alleging that his several decisions have been “unconstitutional”.

It is not within the legal purview of the Delhi government to probe the Delhi cricket board (DDCA) which is registered as a society under the Company Act. Subramanium is doing such drama at the behest of Kejriwal who is used to taking unconstitutional decisions.

“It is nothing but part of its propaganda. Kejriwal should read the Constitution so that he can focus on what his government should be doing, like sanitation and preventing dengue from recurring, and not what it should not be doing,” BJP secretary Shrikant Sharma said.

Subramanium has written to National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, seeking names of competent officers to become part of the investigation.

Sharma recalled that the AAP government had appointed Swati Maliwal as Delhi Commission for Women chairperson in an “unconstitutional” manner before they did it again in a proper way after being told by the LG.

Accusing Kejriwal of raking up the DDCA issue to deflect attention from the CBI probe against his Principal Secretary, he said the Chief Minister has a “history” of working to save the guilty and cited the example of the cases of two former Law ministers, both arrested on criminal charges and now out on bail.

“AAP is in fact ‘pakhandi’ aam aadmi party (PAAP),” he said in a dig.

The more muck Kejriwal will throw at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, the more he will sink into it, Sharma said.
